| The other day, I was reminded of something very important. Each day, each moment, each smile, each feeling counts. I spent the last 6 months focusing on what I was missing out on, instead of the opportunity I was given. This ease in my life enables me to concentrate on my family, the times I can share with them. The good, the memorable, the bad, the ugly, the tears, the joys, the laughs. All of it. I was and am given the chance to build something.
So to others out there who are given this opportunity, take advantage of it, create something outstanding. Stop focusing on what you left behind, it will be the same place you left it. Start focusing on what lies ahead, what YOU can build, shape and live for. I'm not saying you won't miss your past, God knows how much I do, how much I have grieved and cried, but not matter what it won't make a difference. However, you can, by looking at the bigger picture, by adding another piece to your puzzle, the mosaique of your life. A mosaique take time and effort to make, but in the end, it is the most breath-taking ensemble you will ever see. You must never forget what makes you who you are, what made you, but you must not dwell on the past. Instead, you must focuse on the future.
goodnight to all of you artists, remember you are masters of your own design.

| To me, life is an undefined concept. Think about it, everybody has their own definition with small or big variations. But the important question is: What is life to you, what is your definition? It shouldn’t be a quick answer; it’s something you should ponder on. What do you expect out of your life? When you are looking back at your entire life, your accomplishments and failures… are you proud? What are you missing? When you wake up in the morning... what gets you going? What makes you want to live? To get under the rain? What makes you laugh? I challenge you to take time out of your schedule and find an answer. Reevaluate the choices you have made or are about to because each decision you make has an effect on your life. You can make a difference in the world but you must start by working on yourself. Personally, I like to go into a city. I sit down at a café, by myself, and order a coffee… and I think. It makes me feel relaxed and I feel independent and my head is able to clear up, and then it is obvious to me what I should do. Some people like to take a bath, or run a marathon, it doesn’t matter. What matters is to make time for you, alone, to see what you need, or what you want to do, to be. Remember, whatever choice you make, don’t be afraid. Take risks, be adventurous, be yourself but don’t hesitate. Remember that failure is just failure; it doesn’t make you a failure. It just gives you an opportunity to begin again. And without failure, you don’t have success. Take the good in with the bad. But most importantly, live. | | |
| hey!.. it's been quite a while i know but i have been much too busy.. so much exciting stuff has been going on.. but i was talking about one of my respected world leaders, martin luther king. Anyhow, i guess i just picked up a pen.. and these words came out:
I have a dream where all nations will exalt your name, I have a dream where all nations will bend their knees in your presence, I have a dream where I will be freed from the chains of evil, Where your glory shall reign over all valleys and over all mountains.
Your love is extravagant, Your love delivered me from my sin, Your love is what keeps me shinning inside, Your love is what we'll all share one day.
Your friendship is intimite, Your friendship unites us, Your friendship strengthens me each day, Your friendship is something that will never fade away.

| i was thinking the other day.. isnt it amazing how somtimes ur eye will catch on to the tiniest little detail.. but it just makes ur day..? for example.. its raining outside.. for hours and hours( i can tell from experience.. i live i paris!!!!..its rains A LOT!).. and then .. out of the same gray cold sky.. comes a rainbow.. a beautiful blending of warm colors... or even if ur just having a lousy day.. ur on the bottom of the scale... and u have this kid come up to u and give u a flower.. it could even be a daisy.. it means the world to some people..
when i was little, i lived in senegal, in dakar, and i remember they're used to be streets full of lepers.. and my mom used to tell me that i always wanted to give all my money to the first one ..but then i wouldnt have enough for the others.. now, i wasnt rich.. at all.. and im not saying this to put myself on the stop,.. but when u think about it .. even if i gave him 10 cents .. i made his day worth a smile.. because someone paid attention.. and sometimes we are so used to being served that we forget to serve.
my point was as tomorow's next leaders .. we may seem little.. but sometimes what starts little can become big. thats maybe why people say to hang on to ur dreams..
there's a little thought .. that i wanted to ruin by..
more later,

| i tend to think that each year you get "wisdom day" twice: new year's and your b-day. well that's been "tradition" for me.. for the past 6 years.
this year i wanted to write something special(you'll be able to see it in a couple years...) but... it takes time.. so i wrote a poem and thought i could share it with you:
Poem by A.Laurelle Delamatta
You gave me birth 16 years ago, You raised me up and taught me how everything is possible Even though my name isn’t Kim on some series show, You gave me life as well as the dice, So i would stand up high and not be scared of mice.
The road wasn’t always smooth, But you loved and cared for me even though i was rude, You never gave up even with my frown, And for that you deserve the biggest crown.
You taught me how to smile and shine for God, Even though i had to do it with an Ipod, You taught me how to stick fries up my nose, But you also taught me how to Hollywood pose.
You were there for my first day of school, When i got on that yellow bus ready to rule, You were there for my first chicken pox day, And you continued loving me anyway. I’ve always been the more « independant » one, Actually since my life’s begun, I never thought i’d be 16 one day, At least not so quickly anyway !
Life often knockes on your door when you’re not ready, Then you go hysterical and say : « Already ? » You’re thinking to yourself : « I haven’t even cleaned up my room ! » And that’s when you go rushing for the broom. By that time life’s already left, And you’re thinkin’ : « dude that was quicker than a theft ! »
All i can say, is no matter how fast it went by, I’ll never forget your lullaby, I’ll always remember your oupawozzle stories, Ahh..those were memories !
I don’t doubt that Cucu and Boubou will take care of you but how will you survive without Lulu? I’ll still be there in heart but that’s not the same when you’re apart. No matter how hard it was sometimes, We will grow up and become beautiful minds, And if that’s not thanks to you, Then i have no idea who it’s thanks to.
You raised me up so i could stand on mountains, You raised me up to walk on stormy seas, You raised me up to finish my peas, You raised me up to be 16.
And today is my 16th birthday, and i could have not ever felt more special in anyway.
there you go,
well i need t get back to my stuff!!
yours truly *Chiquita*
